Polar Plunge Medford Hits the Pool this Saturday, Feb. 6
Doesn't that look fun? Sure, Hawthorne Pool in Medford will be unheated Feb. 6, but C'mon! It's only water!

Next stop for the arctic blast of Polar Plunge: Medford!
Join more than 100 Polar Plungers and hundreds more pledgers from Medford at Hawthorne Park and Pool on February 6 to raise money for Special Olympics Oregon in the 2nd of 5 statewide plunges!

Medford’s Police Chief Randy Schoen, Deputy Chief Tim George, Medford’s ‘Blue Crew’ and many others will be doing a little “Freezin’ for a Reason” for Special Olympics Oregon. You should, too!

On-site Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., plunge is at 11 a.m.
Unwilling or unable to take the plunge this year?
You can donate to the cause or support a plunger or plunge team of your choice through the “Too Chicken to Plunge” campaign.

For more information on Too Chicken to Plunge, the Polar Plunge costume contest, plunge incentives and the plunges slated for Medford, Corvallis, Eugene and Bend this month visit the PlungeOregon Web site.
Polar Plunge Oregon is made possible by The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). LETR is the largest grassroots fundraising effort for Special Olympics in the world.
Fundraising Resources + Early Check-in
Get the tools to be successful on the Plunge Oregon Resources Page. Once there, you'll be able to download the Plunge brochure and pledge form, as well as poster artwork that corresponds with the plunge in your city. Bring the Plunge to your people!

You can also avoid lines on plunge day! Turn in your donations and pick up everything you need for the plunge, including a free towel, courtesy of Fred Meyer!

Portland Polar Plungers Rake in $145k in Donations!
Portland Polar Plungers -- Two words: YOU RULE!










To all Portlanders and other Oregonians who converged on a rainy Broughton Beach on Jan 30 to take the plunge for Special Olympics Oregon: Thank you! with your help we had more than 750 plungers and received more than $145,000 in donations.

Proceeds from Polar Plunge Portland and all of the plunges support Special Olympics Oregon’s mission: to deliver sports training and athletic competition to thousands of participants in local communities statewide during the winter, summer and fall sports seasons.

Why I plunge -- Kecia Weaver: Bend Police Officer

"Polar Plunge is a wild and fun way to support Special Olympics Oregon. Plunging in uniform is a unique way to represent police officers' support for these athletes. Only a great cause like this would let me even consider jumping in the ice-cold water. I challenge you to try it. I'ts actually really fun and not something many people can say they've done.
