At 10:30am judging will take place on the Car Toys Aftershock stage. Prizes include: 1 yr Zip Car Membership with driving credit, Spa Willamina gift certificate, and a gift certificate to Kell's Irish Pub.
Polar Plunge Deschutes
In Bend, see if your costume can beat last year’s winner, Clara’s Chicks (pictured above). Watch for judges in the crowd from 4:30-6pm to get picked to join MCs Ron and KC on stage for the contest at 6:15pm. Prizes include: Joe’s Sports Outdoor & More and Typhoon gift cards.
For both Plunges there will be two contest winners: "Judges favorite" and "crowd favorite." Judges will include local media and celebrities, and Special Olympics Oregon athletes. "Crowd favorite" award will go to the costume that gets the biggest applause from fellow Plungers and spectators. |

| Why I Plunge: Drew Bledsoe |
“It's pretty simple. Special Olympics is one of the very best charitable organizations in the world. I have had some amazing experiences in my limited involvement with Special Olympics and the inspiring athletes who compete. Jumping in the river to raise some money and some awareness is a pretty small sacrifice to support such an amazing organization. Besides, how cold could it really be?!?! (or so I thought.)”
Drew played in the NFL as a quarterback from 1993-2006 with the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys. Last year for the first time, Drew took the plunge in support of Special Olympics Oregon, spoke to Special Olympics athletes at Winter Games ceremonies, and visited athletes on Mt. Bachelor during games competition. Drew plans to take the plunge again on February 27th in Bend. www.soor.org/plunge/ |
